Missed call to Elm Street Electrical

Home EV charger installation

Jamie Lewis (202) 555-0146

Voicemail transcript

“Hi, it’s Jamie. We’ve bought an electric car and want a charger installed in the garage. Could you call me about a quote?”
Recording saved Email alert sent

Read the message. Check the recording. Call back when you’re ready.

Illustrative example, not a real customer message. For electricians who can’t drop everything for a ringing phone.
  • Keep your business number
  • Read the message or listen back
  • You decide what happens next

A ringing phone shouldn’t divide your attention.

You’re checking a circuit, working at a panel, or walking a customer through an installation. The next call could be a faulty outlet, new lighting, or an EV charger. You want the details, not another interruption.

You don’t need to answer every call. You need to know what each one was about.

Know the request before you return the call.

Give the job your full focus

Let callers leave a message instead of breaking your concentration. Return to the phone when you’re ready, not because it keeps ringing.

Read the work in the customer’s words

See whether the caller described a repair, an installation, or a larger project. Check the original recording when the transcript needs context.

Keep callbacks somewhere reliable

Email alerts and an inbox make it easier to revisit requests after a job, without trusting a missed-call log to tell the whole story.

Typical calls: Outlet repairs, lighting installations, panel upgrade questions, and EV charger requests.

Your number.
Your customers.
A better way to miss a call.

CallCrate works behind your existing business number. No new number to put on the van, your website, or your business cards.

  1. We help you get set up

Create your account and add your business details. We prepare your CallCrate forwarding number and check that it works. It takes a little time; it isn’t instant.

  2. Forward the calls you can’t answer

Once your number is ready, follow your carrier’s instructions for call forwarding. Your customers keep calling the number they already know.

  3. Callers leave a normal voicemail

They hear your greeting and leave a message. No voice bot to negotiate with. CallCrate records the message and writes it out.

  4. Read it, then make the call

An email alert points you to the message. Read the transcript, listen when you need to, and decide how to follow up. No job is booked or promised on your behalf.

AI text follow-up

A panel upgrade isn’t the same call as a dead outlet.

The kind of work, property, and location help you prepare for a useful conversation. With AI text follow-up, CallCrate can ask for missing project details without offering electrical advice.

Questions you could have it ask:

  • What needs fixing or installing?
  • Is this a home or a business?
  • Have you already bought anything, like a fixture or charger?
  • What’s the address, and when’s a good time to call?

You set the questions and the business facts it can share. These are examples, not a ready-made industry setup. You still handle quotes, bookings, and advice.

Example text conversation

CallCrate · Automated assistant

Thanks. Have you already chosen or bought a charger?

Jamie

Yes, we have the charger. A call after four would be great.

Illustrative example. CallCrate identifies itself as automated. The caller can ask for a person or text STOP to stop the conversation.

A useful backup.
Not another hire.

If you need someone to answer live, give advice, or manage your calendar, this isn’t that service. If you need a better way to handle the calls you miss, this is a simpler place to start.

A few things worth knowing.

Straight answers for electricians. Have a question we didn’t cover? Ask us.

How does CallCrate handle calls while an electrician is working?

Calls you can’t answer forward to CallCrate once forwarding is set up. The caller leaves a voicemail, and you get a transcript, recording, and email alert to review when you can safely stop.

Will it give electrical advice or assess whether a problem is safe?

No. CallCrate doesn’t diagnose electrical faults, give safety advice, assess hazards, or monitor emergencies. You handle technical questions and keep your emergency process separate.

Can I keep my business phone number?

Yes. Keep the number your customers already know. Once your CallCrate forwarding number is ready, follow your carrier’s instructions to forward the calls you can’t answer. Carrier options and charges can vary. We help with setup; service isn’t instant.

What happens if the caller doesn’t leave all the details?

You still get the voicemail, transcript, recording, and email alert. You can ask about anything missing when you call back. CallCrate doesn’t turn an incomplete message into a confirmed job.

Will CallCrate quote prices, book jobs, or handle emergencies?

No. You make every pricing, scheduling, and service decision. CallCrate doesn’t promise callback times, monitor emergencies, or replace an emergency answering process.

How much does CallCrate cost?

CallCrate costs $29 a month, with no setup fee. There are no overage charges. Fair use applies for everyday small-business missed calls. Billing starts at checkout, including while we’re setting up your service. You can cancel and keep service through the period you’ve paid for.
